Maintenance Supervisor

 
Applicants should possess:
  • Five (5) CXC/GCE O’Levels including Mathematics and English
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Certification in one or more of the following (electrical, plumbing, air conditioning)
  • Supervisory Management certification will be considered an asset
  • Must be able to work with minimum supervision
  • Must be timely and well organised
  • A proven track record and experience in the Hotel industry or related field
  • A personal vehicle will be an asset
 
Job Description - Maintenance Supervisor
  1. Responsible for all Maintenance, Refurbishment, Restoration Programmes, cooling and heating systems, water systems and pumps, closed circuit security systems and any other systems which may be implemented for the efficient running of the hotel and guest comfort.  To ensure that a proper maintenance programme is in place for the plant and machinery and that the maintenance programmes are carried out in keeping with Industry Best Standards and in accordance with the Standards adopted and set out by the hotel.
  2. Implementation of all new construction projects within the compound of the Hotel and to ensure that these projects are carried out in keeping with Industry Best Standards and in accordance with the Standards adopted and set out by the  hotel.
  3. Supervision of all Maintenance Employees.
  4. Responsibility for the upkeep and maintenance of the grounds and supervision of the Grounds & Landscaping Contractor, including the maintenance of the back entrance to the hotel’s premises.
  5. Supervision of all Contractors conducting work on the hotel’s premises, including the inspection of the work to ensure that such work is being done in keeping with Industry Best Standards and in accordance with the Standards adopted and set out by the hotel.
  6. Responsibility for the control of termites of all types and the planning and carrying out of the solutions decided upon.
  7. Responsibility for the sourcing, ordering and stock control of all materials and for the proper and correct recording of materials related to any work necessary on any part of the hotel’s buildings or grounds.
  8. Preparation of a monthly report to the Board of Directors through the Manager, of all work which you may consider necessary, either immediately or at a future date, with a description of the work and an estimate of the probable cost.  This report is to be circulated to the Board of Directors, one (1) week prior to each Board Meeting.
  9. Routine inspections of the Electrical and Plumbing installations throughout the entire compound.
  10. The performance of other related duties which will arise and that will be assigned to you from time to time with special emphasis on the working condition of everything within the rooms and other areas of the hotel premises, under your control.
  11. Attendance at regular Management meetings with all Department Heads.
  12. The regular inspection and servicing of all equipment and fixtures related to the guest rooms, to keep them in working condition to ensure that guests are comfortable (i.e. air-conditioning units, stoves, refrigerators, televisions, light switches, bulbs, exhaust fans, doors, locks, windows, etc.)
