 Account Executive – Service & Projects

JOB PURPOSE:
The primary and overall function of this position is to ensure that agreed business aims (including sales quotas and company budgets) are met through proper planning of sales activities and a well-defined market development strategy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Responsible for sales of all applicable Parts, Services and Service Contracts across all industries through tactical Sales planning to ensure that agreed business aims (including sales quotas, company budgets and profitability guidelines) are met.
  • Develop Sales plans and annual business plan (and budget) in conjunction with the General Manager – Sales & Service to detail activities to follow during the fiscal year in order to meet or exceed the sales quota.
  • Active management and reporting of opportunities through maintenance of accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities including sales calls, presentations, closed sales and follow-up activities using standard company NetSuite ERP system.
  • Actively maintain a widespread customer base and develop new techniques to attract customers/business.  Visit customer sites to ascertain needs and follow-up on inquiries as part of planned sales calls.
  • Provide all relevant details and customer requirements for enquiries to the Service Department.  Assist where necessary to ensure that a quotation is provided to the customer in a timely basis.
  • Consistently follow-up with customers regarding collection of funds payable ensuring that payments are received on a timely basis (within 60 days to avoid penalties).  Attend weekly collection meeting to report on progress.
  • Follow-up Purchasing Department and advise Customers on status of delivery of their orders.
  • Deliver smaller items of equipment directly to the customer and liaise with the Stores Department to arrange for delivery of larger equipment when received;
  • Ensure that all requests for service work are submitted to the Service Department in a timely manner to allow for consideration in Service Planner.  Where relevant, follow up with the Service Department regarding job progress ensuring that all customer requirements are met.
  • Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with current Company Procedures and Policies particularly, as they relate to the Company’s Management System and EHS procedures.
  • Travel overseas from time to time as required for sales visits, to attend training courses, industry seminars/conferences or other activities as required.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.  Must be flexible in approach to work and undertake any other duties that may be required within the scope of the organization.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
  • Engineering Technician or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and good mechanical engineering knowledge
  • 4-6 years of sales experience and proven successful track record in sales, preferably in the Service industry
  • Desire and ability to pursue further job-related educational training and development.
  • Highly competent with Microsoft application software and data analytic reporting.
  • Valid private driver’s permit.
  • Experience operating within the Company’s Quality Management System.
  • Experience and training in HSSE policies and procedures.
  • Or practical experience in similar capacity.
