POSITION TITLE:         Supervisor - Inventory
 
REPORTS TO:                TBC

BASIC FUNCTIONS:
 
To effectively control the company’s Inventory and provide accountability for any variances in relation to stock, consumables and materials purchased for specific jobs.
 
Responsible for monitoring the Company’s inventory via NetSuite ensuring the proper recording of received and delivered items in strict adherence to the Company’s policies and procedures.
 
To effectively assist and support the Managing Director in ensuring that the day-to-day operations are carried out in an accurate and efficient manner thereby ensuring that the Company’s goals and objectives are met.
 
SCOPE & MAGNITUDE:
  • Responsible for ensuring timely and efficient processing of inventory receipts and issues and subsequent posting on NetSuite on a daily basis ensuring that the relevant source documents are accounted for;
  • Responsible for submitting a quarterly Materials Management Report tracking materials used based on monthly purchases, receipt and issues and ensuring accountability to reduce losses and the possibility of wastage of misuse.
  • Responsible for investigating and reporting reasons for variances in inventory and for making any adjustments due to computation or count as well as based on the results of the investigation and with prior approval;
  • Responsible for ensuring that stock items are adequately stored, labeled and maintained in order to effectively serve the needs of the Company; 
  • Responsible for reviewing the monthly Outstanding Delivery Notes and investigating, resolving and reporting on any discrepancies; 
  • Responsible for preparation of monthly inventory reports including any slow moving, defective or unusable inventory items being held based on physical inventory counts and/or continuous monitoring/comparing inventory stock levels with computerized inventory module system
  • Responsible for annual, quarterly and spot inventory counts to ensure that the system is correctly recording the physical stock on hand, investigating and resolving any differences identified
  • To ensure all company vehicles are maintained in accordance with the companies polices and procedures.
  • Discharging all duties and responsibilities as assigned in accordance with the company’s Code of Ethics;
  • Ensures that all duties are carried out in accordance with current Company Procedures and Policies, particularly as they relate to the Company’s Quality Management System and HSSE requirements;
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
 
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
  • 5 ‘O’ Levels including English and Mathematics
  • Certificate in Inventory Management
  • Computer literate - IBM Compatible/PC, Word and Excel and Accounting Software
  • Experience operating within the Company’s Quality and HSSE Management System
  • Or 2-3 years experience in similar capacity
  • Or any combination of the above
