POSITION PURPOSE AND SCOPE

The Accounts Co  Ordinator  works in conjunction with the Accounts Manager  or designate  and is responsible for developing and maintaining various accounting tasks and payroll functions in support of the operational unit to meet organizational objectives. 

 

I. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

i. Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to book of accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions;

ii. Standard journal entries; 

iii. Transfers data from working documentation to Cinnaworld’s inventory systems

iv. Receives, reviews, and expedites requisitions from all branches. 

v. Analyze daily banking transactions and journal entries;

vi. Balance daily stores system reports; 

vii. Reconcile sub-ledger accounts (such as inventory); and inventory, bank accounts etc

viii. Payroll reconciliation;

ix. Prepare monthly sales reports into excel spread sheet for analysis;

x. Verify and reconcile payables, orders, and vouchers, and prepares reports to substantiate individual transactions prior to settlement;

xi. Monitor compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures;

xii. Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports;

xiii. Provide advice and assistance and early warning of such problems as cost over-runs, excessive charges, and potential penalties. 

xiv. Develop models to depict financial and related activities tailored for specific operations;

xv. Researches processing problems, contacts department and vendors to resolve problems and expedite payment, and responds to inquires by telephone or in writing; refers complex problems for solution.

xvi. Any other duties as may be assigned.

III. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

i. At least five (5) years experience in an accounting position;

ii. CAT or ACCA Level 4;

iii. Bachelor’s Degree in Finance would be an asset.
