The Analyst – Strategy & Transactions supports the development and execution of Corporate and Portfolio/Line of Business (LOB) strategy and contributes to the evaluation of major transactions across the Group. The role conducts research, financial modelling, and analytical work that informs strategic priorities, the Annual Strategy Review (ASR), and the Annual Budget process. It assists in the assessment of partnerships, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and divestitures by preparing data, analysis, and supporting materials for senior team members. The Analyst also helps ensure consistency and quality in strategic and financial deliverables by collaborating with colleagues across the Group and continuously developing core analytical capabilities.

M&A and Divestitures

·  Conduct financial modelling, valuation analysis, and data preparation for acquisitions, divestitures, partnerships, and other strategic opportunities.

·  Conduct research, compile inputs, and assist in feasibility assessments, risk evaluations, and deal documentation.

·  Build and update financial models (e.g., assumptions, benchmarking, schedules) under guidance from senior team members.

·  Prepare supporting slides and analysis for decision-support packages, business cases, and presentations.

·  Assist in developing and maintaining template models, dashboards, and slide libraries for use across the Group.

·  Provide administrative and analytical support on transaction workplans and coordination activities.

Corporate Strategy & Business Development

·  Assist in preparing materials for the Group’s strategy cycle, ASR process, and annual budget cycle, including the Group Strategy Guide, Strategy scorecards and Group financial models.

·  Conduct structured research on industries, markets, competitors, customers, and trends to support strategic assessments.

·  Work with Portfolio and Line-of-Business teams to gather inputs and ensure consistency in analysis and reporting.

·  Support due diligence efforts by compiling data, validating assumptions, and assisting in strategic-fit assessments.

Other General Responsibilities

·  Conduct financial analysis and modelling for capital planning and other Group-level strategic initiatives.

·  Draft sections of reports and presentations, ensuring data accuracy and clarity.

·  Participate in team problem-solving sessions, contributing analytical insights and research findings.

·  Collaborate with Senior Analysts and Managers to ensure deliverables are completed to required quality standards and timelines.

      ·    Continuously develop analytical, financial modelling, and communication skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

·       Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.

·       Formal qualifications in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and investment analysis (for example Wall Street Prep, CFI, business school courses). On-the-job experience (five plus years) in these areas will be accepted.

·       Post-graduate degree in Finance, Business Administration or a quantitative discipline such as Data Analytics, or CFA Charter holder is beneficial but not required.

 ·  This is an English-speaking role but fluency in Spanish would be viewed as an asset given Massy’s operation in Spanish-speaking countries.

EXPERIENCE

·       Five plus years’ experience in financial analysis, valuation, data analytics, strategy and/or investment analysis-based roles.

  ·       Extensive experience and/or training in conducting due diligence, market research, and competitive analysis to assess viability and risks.
