Job Title: Applications Specialist- Plant

Job Purpose:
The job holder will work in partnership with the business to ensure that the business processes aligned to Maintenance and Plant Operations (Plant Systems) are optimised through the use of technology. This job holder is also responsible for managing the design, development, release and maintenance of application systems that support the plant-based business functions throughout the company. He/She has to support the main business units of Maintenance, Operations and and other plant system application owner. The job holder will also work with peer resources and applications to troubleshoot and solve business issues.

The role requires the job holder to manage several expert areas, the incumbent must be systematic and equally knowledgeable in all the areas. The incumbent operates in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequently changing prioritirs. The ability to plan, organise and prioritise work to meet tight deadlines is key. Extended hours may sometimes be required if deliverables are to be completed within targeted timelines.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Ensures the analysis, definition, training, design and documentation of requirements for the existing CMMS, permit to work and plant applications and any new modules associated to the CMNS, permit to work and plant applications solutions.
  • Guides the work of development and implementation teams on projects for business applications by following standard Company project management practices through participation in relevant SPRINT(s) or Agile methodologies for delivery and management of the CMMS, permit to work and other plant applications and solutions. 
  • Ensures the continues operations of identified business applications (including the company's Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), Permit to Work (PTW), Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) systems and any other major plant related system in accordance with the Comapny's policies and standards.
  • Ensures that audits are routinely performed on Plant applications to maintain data integrity and security of the systems; that end-user support is provided to all Company applications users as required; that issues in the applications are identified, tracked and resolved following the Company's Management of Change (MoC) procedures.

  • Ability to administer, map application functionality to user requirements and understand the CMMS, permit to work, HSE and other plant applications business processes and its corresponding application functionality and coding
  • Ability to evaluate complex procedures and techniques related to applications architecture and design. Strong project implementation skills
  • Proficient in the use of technology and the use of digital applications

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:

  • A first degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Management Information Systems from a recognised, accredited institution.
  • A minimum of five (5) years' relevant experience in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), permit to work systems, safety software systems and wide-area applications deployment, with an emphasis on Maintenance and Plant Operations.
  • Experience in supporting oil and gas industry-specific technology tools for functional areas such as Document Management, Permitting, Management of Change, Safety systems and other Plant specific operations.
  • Experience with Web-based APIs; system analysis, design and architecture, technology experience of developing integrated, multi-tiered based systems; in designing code specifications and code walkthroughs.
  • Experience in system analysis, design and architecture, technology experience of developing integrated, multi-tiered and multi-connected based systems. Development or administrative experience with CMMS solutions, permit to work, safety systems and other plant application systems.
