Job Summary
Hoseins Roti Shop is seeking a responsible, hands on and customer focused Assistant Manager to support the day to day operations of the restaurant.
The Assistant Manager will work closely with the Restaurant Manager to supervise employees, maintain excellent customer service and food quality standards, coordinate daily operations, monitor stock and cash handling procedures, and ensure the restaurant operates efficiently.
The successful candidate should be comfortable working in a fast paced food service environment, leading a team and stepping in to support different areas of the operation when required.

Key Responsibilities
Restaurant Operations
• Assist with the daily opening and closing of the restaurant.
• Support the Restaurant Manager in ensuring smooth and efficient day to day operations.
• Monitor customer flow and service times, particularly during busy periods.
• Ensure the restaurant is properly prepared for each shift, including staffing, food availability, supplies and equipment.
• Identify operational issues and take appropriate action or escalate them to management when necessary.
• Ensure company procedures and operational standards are consistently followed.

Team Supervision
• Supervise and provide guidance to team members during assigned shifts.
• Assist with coordinating staff schedules, breaks and daily work assignments.
• Ensure employees are punctual, properly dressed and prepared for their shifts.
• Monitor employee performance and provide coaching or corrective guidance where necessary.
• Assist with training and onboarding new employees.
• Help maintain a positive, respectful and productive working environment.
• Report attendance, performance or disciplinary concerns to management.

Customer Service
• Ensure customers receive friendly, professional and efficient service.
• Assist with resolving customer complaints and concerns in a professional manner.
• Monitor the customer experience and identify opportunities to improve service.
• Support frontline staff during busy periods to maintain efficient service.

• Build positive relationships with regular and new customers.
Â
Food Quality, Hygiene & Safety
• Ensure food preparation, presentation and service meet the company's required standards.
• Monitor cleanliness throughout the restaurant, including kitchen, service and customer areas.
• Ensure employees follow proper food handling, hygiene and sanitation procedures.
• Ensure food is stored correctly and appropriate temperature and safety procedures are followed.
• Immediately address or report food quality, hygiene or safety concerns.
• Support compliance with all applicable food safety and health requirements.

Cash Handling & Reporting
• Assist with cash handling and point of sale procedures.
• Support the reconciliation of cash and sales at the end of shifts where required.
• Ensure transactions, discounts, refunds and voids are handled according to company procedures.
• Report cash discrepancies or unusual transactions to management.
• Assist with maintaining accurate daily operational records.

Inventory & Stock Control
• Monitor stock levels for food, beverages, packaging and other restaurant supplies.
• Assist with stock counts and inventory checks.
• Notify management when stock is running low and support timely replenishment.
• Monitor food usage and help minimize waste.
• Ensure stock is stored and rotated appropriately.
• Assist with receiving and checking deliveries when required.

Qualifications & Experience
• Minimum of five CSEC/CXC passes or equivalent qualifications.
• Certificate, Diploma or other qualification in Hospitality, Food & Beverage Management, Business Management or a related field would be an asset.
• At least 2 to 3 years of experience within the restaurant, hospitality, food service or similar industry.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience with cash handling, point of sale systems and basic inventory management would be an asset.
• Food safety or food handling certification would be an asset.
