Kaizen Environmental Services (Trinidad) Limited is seeking to hire an experienced custody technician to work in our Analytical Services Division.  If you meet the following criteria and want to join our competent team, we encourage you to apply for this position.   

 

Responsibilities:

·       Laboratory development, optimization and overall management of sample handling, sample receipt, storage, custody transfer and disposal.

·       Management of Chain of Custody, sample accountabilities, scope of works as well as all associated forms and logs.

·       Assist the Field Services Team Leader (IT) with projects/ initiatives for Sample Receipt Room (SRR) and Decontamination Room (DR) and ensuring all required environmental conditions and fridge monitoring are maintained.

·       Ensure good housekeeping is maintained in all operating areas SRR and DR.

·       Sample bottle preparation in accordance to the associated scope of works

·       Ensure that all samples are transported, received, handled, stored, retained and disposed in accordance to standard operating procedures of the laboratory.

·       Ensure all sample preservation, storage and custody transfer procedures are followed and the appropriate documentation are maintained.

·       Ensure all required documentation are submitted thoroughly completed and in the stipulated timeframe for all sampling projects.

·       Ensure all Chain of Custody procedures are followed and documented for all clients and samples inclusive of walk-in clients.

·       Logging in all internal samples and provide assistance to the Field Services Team for the logging in of external samples where applicable.

 

Education, skills and training:

·       University degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry or any other related field of study.

·       Clear written documentation

Experience required:

·       At least one-year experience in a similar environment

·       Any other relevant combination of education, experience and training would be considered.
