To safely operate a Class 4 vehicle (truck or van) for the delivery and collection of merchandise within assigned routes, ensuring full compliance with company policies, road traffic regulations, and occupational safety standards.
The role requires maintaining a professional and courteous image of the Company at all times, particularly while on the road and at customer locations.
· Safely operate assigned vehicles to transport materials to and from designated locations.
· Ensure proper loading and unloading of goods in accordance with established safety procedures.
· Assist with loading and unloading of vehicles as required.
· Ensure all cargo is properly secured before departure.
· Complete deliveries and collections in a timely and efficient manner.
· Conduct daily inspections of the vehicle, including fuel, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes.
· Perform minor emergency repairs such as changing tires, bulbs, fuses, and similar basic maintenance tasks where necessary.
· Report any mechanical issues or defects promptly to the supervisor.
· Ensure the vehicle is always properly secured when not in use.
· Present delivery documents, bills, and receipts to the relevant personnel as required.
· Return all signed delivery receipts to the designated department.
· Report delays, accidents, or any unusual road or transport incidents immediately.
· Comply with all traffic laws and company transport procedures at all times.
· Use maps, directions, and verbal instructions to locate delivery destinations.
· Maintain accurate vehicle logs, delivery records, and related documentation.
· Adhere to all Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) requirements and company policies.
· Maintain a courteous and professional attitude toward all road users and customers, ensuring the Company’s image is upheld.
· Perform any other related duties as assigned from time to time.
· Valid Class 4 Driver’s License.
· Minimum of 3 years’ experience operating heavy or commercial vehicles.
· Good driving record with strong knowledge of road safety regulations.
· Ability to communicate effectively.
· Calm, patient, and responsible temperament.
· High level of courtesy and professionalism when dealing with the public and customers.
