Position Title: Driver (Class 4)
Reports to: Operations & Retail Manager

Position Objective: 
To safely operate a truck or van primarily to deliver or pick up merchandise or packages within a specified area ensuring that all company, country and road regulations are observed at all times. Maintain proper company image by displaying courtesy on the roads, at customers’ locations on any assigned areas. 

Duties and Responsibilities 

• Safely operate  vehicles to transport materials to and from specified destinations
• Ensure that the loading and unloading of the vehicle is done in accordance with standard operating procedures for safety and security
• Assists in the loading and unloading of vehicles 
• Ensure that all goods to be transported are properly secured before leaving location
• Ensure that deliveries and pick ups are completed in a timely manner
• Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes  to ensure that the vehicle is in proper working condition at all times
• Perform emergency repairs such as changing tires or installing light bulbs, fuses, tire chains, and spark plugs
• Reports any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles 
• Ensure that the vehicle is secured at all times
• Present bills and receipts for goods delivered or loaded to the respective personnel
• Hand over  receipts received from deliveries to assigned personnel
• Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations 
• Obeys traffic laws, and follow established traffic and transportation procedures at all times
• Read maps, and follow written and verbal geographic directions  Maintain records such as vehicle logs, records of cargo, or billing statements in accordance with regulations.
• Observe all Occupational Safety and Health regulations as per company policy.
• Practice courtesy to all road users and drive in a safe manner ensuring that the company’s image is maintained through your road performance
• Other duties that may be assigned from time to time  

Qualification:   Education and/or Experience 

• A valid Class 4 driver’s license
• At least 3 years truck driving experience
• Must have a high tolerance level for other road users
• Must be of a calming temperament 
• Must have good driving and communication skills
• Must be courteous to everyone
