Job Description
The Family Chef is responsible for planning, preparing, and serving nutritious meals for the household while maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen. The chef will prepare meals according to the family's dietary requirements and ensure proper food handling and storage practices at all times.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Previous experience as a chef, or cook in a household or similar environment.
· Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and proper food handling practices.
· Ability to prepare a variety of healthy meals and accommodate dietary requirements, including gluten-free meals.
· Good time management and organizational skills.
· Ability to work independently and manage daily meal preparation efficiently.
· Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
· Professional, respectful, and able to maintain confidentiality.
· Strong attention to cleanliness and kitchen organization.
· Flexibility to work additional hours for holidays or special family events when required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Meal Preparatin
· Prepare up to three meals daily for a maximum of six family members.
· Prepare and pack breakfast and lunch when required.
· Ensure lunch is ready for collection or delivery by 12:00 noon.
· Prepare meals according to the family dietary requirements, including gluten-free options.
Kitchen & Food Management
· Maintain an organized kitchen and follow proper food safety and storage practices.
· Prepare ingredients in advance and monitor food inventory.
· Maintain an updated grocery list and communicate weekly grocery needs.
Cleaning & Hygiene
· Clean all dishes, utensils, work surfaces, and kitchen equipment used during meal preparation.
· Ensure meals are properly seasoned and cooked to safe food standards.
Professional Conduct
· Maintain a professional, respectful, and reliable attitude.
· Keep personal phone use to a minimum during working hours.
