Job Purpose: 
This position is responsible for the development, maintenance and administration of the Company’s Finance and Accounting function. Ensuring that integrity in the Financial Management Information System is maintained in a professional manner and in keeping with accounting standards and the company’s policies and practices for recording and reporting financial activity. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Manage and oversee all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of the Company, including management of credit, insurance portfolio, financial forecasting, budgeting, financial trends and forecasts, financial consolidation, and timely and accurate budget analysis. 

• Lead the development and continuous evaluation of short-term and long-term strategic financial objectives while monitoring and reporting on the Company’s financial performance. 

• Manage and report on organization-wide budget variances, including the preparation of associated impact assessments and recommendations. 

• Maintain oversight of the Company’s investment portfolio and investment activities. 

• Manage and assess the financial impact of key business activities, initiatives, and growth opportunities. 

• Prepare, review, and analyse the Company’s financial statements and management reports. 

• Prepare and present annual and periodic budgets for approval in accordance with the Company’s approval processes and policies. 

• Ensure full compliance with locally and internationally recognized Accounting and 

Financial standards. 

• Ensure compliance with all local legislative, statutory, and regulatory reporting obligations. 

• Perform year-end financial procedures and support the Company’s financial reporting cycles within agreed timelines and commitments. 

• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, external auditors, regulators, financial institutions, and other third parties. 

• Supervise and coordinate the internal and external audit processes to ensure compliance, accuracy, and timely completion. 

• Provide financial analysis and advisory support for the Company’s transactional, contractual, and investment requirements. 

• Perform other duties as required in support of the Finance Department and the overall business objectives of the Company. 

Qualifications and Experience:  

• Professional finance and accounting qualification (ACCA, FCCA, CIMA or equivalent.  

• Post graduate qualifications or certifications will be an asset.  

• A minimum of eight (8) years demonstrated experience in finance and accounting, four (4) of which must be at a Managerial level.  

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

• Sound theoretical and practical knowledge of financial and accounting statutory requirements, principles and practices, working knowledge of the institutional, and statutory framework in which the above functions are performed.

• Proficiency in financial reporting methods. 

• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite, in particular advanced excel.
