The position of Head- Retail & Commercial exists to achieve the strategic business objectives of the Bank by ensuring the effective growth and profitability of the Retail, Commercial and Electronic Banking business. The incumbent is required to develop and implement strategies to drive business results and achieve financial and non-financial objectives.

Leads and directs the Branch network, the Electronic Banking and Credit units to achieve and surpass customers and shareholders’ return and expectations.

The position is accountable for the operational performance and growth of the assigned Branches and units and to support the CEO in the drive to position the company as the preferred financial service provider.

Effectively represent the Bank’s interest to citizens, government, corporate bodies and representatives, and initiate and maintain relationship channels.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Accountabilities

  • Develop and execute the long-term strategic and annual business plans and targets
  • Assist the CEO in the development of the company’s long range and annual(business) plans
  • Develop and implement the plans for assigned branches and units
  • Hold discussions with direct reports to ensure that targets are attained, sustained or surpassed where feasible
  • Guide research of the competitors and gather information on competitive analysis, market analysis and customer insights
  • Monitor performance, compliance and operational risks to determine improvements to strategies and plans
  • Accountable for the growth and profitability of the branches and units under his/her responsibility
  • Ensures detailed growth goals, unit sales and activity plans are established for each branch/unit
  • Assess, develop and implement value enhancement opportunities
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Lead and manage sales and other promotional initiatives aimed at driving revenue and profit targets
  • Accountable for growth and sustainability of non-interest revenue targets
  • Determine goals with the various teams; establish and implement strategies for achieving targets


    Education /Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Business related field from an accredited University and ten (10) years progressive experience in banking, at least five (5) of which must be at management level.
  • A Masters in Business Administration would be an asset.
