JOB SUMMARY
The Home Installation Inspector ensures the quality, compliance, and efficiency of installation and repair services by performing detailed inspections, providing technical support, and coordinating with teams to meet service level agreements. This role involves overseeing contractor performance, ensuring adherence to safety and operational standards, and supporting field activities through technical training, material distribution, and real-time issue resolution. The inspector plays a critical role in maintaining service excellence and supporting the company’s commitment to delivering reliable and high-quality solutions to customers.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
❖ Performs daily inspections of installations and repairs done by contractors.
❖ Confers with stakeholders to discuss site surveys and planning for installation runs.
❖ Performs site visits and produce associated reports for Enterprise customers and internal teams for installation of internet, IPTV and Voice service and Access Points within SLA.
❖ Communicates with Dispatch team on new request jobs or issues.
❖ Performs Tools & PPE checks on technicians to ensure compliance with requirements and HSE mandate.
❖ Completes jobs assigned via DLO Field Service app within the requested timeframe.
❖ Completes inspections specifically assigned by the QA Team.
❖ Performs facilities reconciliation at cabinets and NAPs.
❖ Performs fibre splicing as needed to support installation and repair works.
❖ Drives and operates equipment (Bucket truck, HIAB, etc.) to support installation & repair works
and material distribution.
❖ Performs technical training with technicians both formal and informal (on the field).
❖ Collects material from warehouse and distribute to field technicians to support installation and repair activities.
❖ Reports and follow up on failed inspections immediately to QA Team via WhatsApp chat.
❖ Ensures adherence to applicable HSE legislation and policies as far as reasonably practicable.
❖ Commits to attending all required HSE, Cyber Security and other relevant training provided by the Company.
❖ Ensures all Individual and Department assigned Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) are fulfilled on a continuous basis.
❖ Be able to carry out instructions while being directed remotely.
❖ Assists the engineering team to complete critical tasks where necessary.
❖ Assists in testing Amplia’s new products and services.
❖ Attends to various meetings with supervisor and departments to ensure company objectives are met and participate in inter-departmental planning meetings to coordinate and communicate activities related to the successful completion of projects.
❖ Be able to work with unfamiliar equipment while being guided remotely.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
❖ Minimum of five (5) CSEC passes including Mathematics and English A.
❖ Accredited training in Fiber Optics.
❖ At least two (2) years’ experience in a similar role.
❖ Working knowledge of Microsoft Office especially Microsoft Word and Excel.
❖ Strong performance orientation.
❖ Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills with an excellent ability to work under strict deadlines and to adapt to priorities that change often.
❖ Ability to read, analyse, interpret, and use complex documents and forms.
❖ Ability to respond effectively to inquiries or complaints from customers.
❖ Ability to communicate effectively with employees and customers.
❖ Accurate, alert and pays attention to detail.
