Job Summary
The HR Officer position is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management. The position formulates partnerships to deliver value-added human resource services to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities at this time but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.

Key Accountabilities

• Guide the recruitment process by interviewing, selecting, and onboarding support and orientation.

• Develop short and long-term HR plans, promotions, and transfers.

• Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management.

• Partner with line management to identify training needs for departments and individuals.

• Participate in the evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success.

• Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation.

• Analyze trends and metrics to develop solutions, programs, and policies.

• Review and update HR policies and procedures ensuring alignment with laws and regulations.

• Conduct regular meetings with and consult with line management, providing HR guidance.

• Work with line managers to manage and resolve employee relations issues.

• Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations.

• Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to employee management and regulatory compliance.

Required Skills & Abilities

• Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and employment laws.

• Ability to manage diverse groups.

• Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

• Strong planning and analytical skills.

• Good decision-making skills.

• Ability to multitask.

• Ability to follow through with problems/issues.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

• Experience in Industrial Court will be an asset.

• HR Certified Professional credential preferred.
