JOB TITLE: Human Resource Officer

JOB SUMMARY:
The Human Resource Officer provides professional and responsive generalist support throughout the employee lifecycle of the Firm. The role supports the recruitment, benefits administration, employee engagement, employee relations and disciplinary functions. It maintains accurate HR records and HRIS information and responds to routine employee and management queries. The role also supports the administration and review of HR policies, procedures and documentation. The incumbent prepares routine HR reports and workforce information and assists with HR initiatives and employee engagement activities.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Supports recruitment and workforce administration by coordinating vacancy advertisements, application screening, interview arrangements, candidate documentation, offers, employment agreements and pre-employment requirements and facilitates onboarding and employee orientation in accordance with approved processes.
· Provides day-to-day HR support to employees and managers by responding to routine HR queries, interpreting and applying approved policies and procedures, and escalating complex or sensitive matters to the Human Resource Manager as appropriate.
· Support the review and implementation of job descriptions, HR forms, templates, employee communications and HR procedures to ensure that documentation remains current, practical and aligned with the Firm’s requirements.
· Supports the administration of disciplinary and employee relations matters, including coordinating disciplinary meetings and Tribunal proceedings, recording proceedings where required, and drafting of progressive disciplinary correspondence and related documentation in accordance with established procedures.
· Administers the Leave function by ensuring that the HRIS is always maintained with up-to-date records and monitors the specific entitlements applicable.
· Maintains accurate and current employee records and produces routine HR reports, schedules and workforce information to support leadership decision-making.
· Coordinates the administration of employee benefits, including group health insurance and other approved employee benefit programmes through liaising with Finance, insurers and service providers as required.
· Supports in the coordination of HR-related activities, meetings, staff initiatives and employee engagement events as assigned, ensuring effective planning, communication and administrative follow-through.
· Delivers end-to-end HR support and performs other related duties within the scope of the role as assigned.
KSA REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge: Sound Knowledge of Human Resources Management principles and practices, relevant employment legislation and statutory regulations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel, and effectively use HR information systems.
Skills: Strong administrative, organisational and records-management skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees, managers and external service providers.
Ability: Ability to handle confidential and sensitive employee information with discretion, sound judgement and professionalism. Ability to analyse routine HR information, identify discrepancies and prepare clear reports and recommendations. Ability to prioritise competing demands, meet deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced professional environment. Ability to work collaboratively and exercise sound judgement while knowing when matters require escalation
Physical
requirements: The role requires regular periods of sitting and computer-based work, with frequent communication with employees, Partners, and external parties by telephone, email and face-to-face interaction. The position may occasionally require movement between office areas, carrying light documents or materials, and participation in meetings or staff activities.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Required Education/Training: University degree (BSc) in Human Resource Management or Business Administration.
Desirable Education/Training: Formalized training/experience in recruitment and training and development would be an asset.
Experience: Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar HR Generalist or HR Officer role, with demonstrated exposure to transactional HR operations.
Certificates and Licenses: Computer literacy - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
