Job Purpose:
The job holder is responsible for the development, implementation, self-verification and performance management of the Occupational Health and Industrial Hygiene (IH) component of the Integrated HSSE Management System Framework for the Company, in accordance with the overall Occupational Health and Hygiene strategic objectives to ensure that the required controls are implemented to eliminate and prevent occupational disease or injury. The incumbent also oversees the Company’s Drug, Alcohol, and Substance Abuse Management Porgramme in accordance with applicable policies to support a safe and compliant workplace.
The jobholder interacts across all functional groups of the Company to fulfill the purposes of the role. He/she operates in a fast paced, dynamic, multi-cultural environment with frequently changing priorities, varying workloads, schedules and deliverables. Extended hours may be required at times to ensure deliverables are completed on time. Work is conducted both in an office and in a plant environment.
Principal Accountabilities:
· Develops, implements and monitors Industrial Hygiene programmes in alignment with local legislative requirements, activity exposure risks and relevant industry standards.
· Reviews and assesses Occupational Health exposures based on activities and trends and guides the development of Occupational Health programmes.
· Incorporates Occupational Health and Industrial Hygiene management processes into asset management systems.
· Evaluates the effectiveness of Occupational Health and Industrial Hygiene programmes by reviewing key performance indicators (KPI’s) and conducting formal self-verification assessments to drive continuous improvement.
· Manages the Company’s Drug, Alcohol and Substance Abuse Management Programme in accordance with the applicable policy.

Technical
· Strong understanding of budgets and cost control mechanisms to effectively support the delivery of Capex and Opex targets.
· Proficient in statistical analysis and experienced in using reporting tools and applications to derive actionable insights.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:
· A first degree in Nautical Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, or related discipline from a recognized, accredited institution.
· Certified Industrial Hygienist qualification.
· NEBOSH Level III Certification in Occupational Health and Safety.
· A minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience with at least 3 years field-based experience, preferable withing a process plant or oil and gas environment.
· Experience in leading and conducting HSE courses and Seminars.
