VACANCY: INFRASTRUCTURE & SYSTEMS PROJECT LEAD

The Furness Group is currently initiating a phase of significant digital transformation and is looking to expand our technical capacity. We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure & Systems Project Lead to join the team and spearhead critical upgrades to our enterprise environment.

THE ROLE This new, strategic position is dedicated to high-level systems design and operational scaling. The successful candidate will focus on architecting robust network solutions, enhancing group-wide cybersecurity frameworks, and streamlining our internal technical documentation. You will work alongside our existing technical staff to modernize our infrastructure and ensure our IT systems align with our evolving corporate governance and audit requirements.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

· Systems Architecture & Optimization: Leading the design and deployment of upgraded network (LAN/WAN) environments and enterprise hardware/software models.

· Advanced Cybersecurity: Architecting and maintaining rigorous access controls, firewall configurations, and comprehensive data recovery and backup strategies.

· Operational Automation: Developing custom scripts (Python, Perl, or similar) to automate routine maintenance, increase operational efficiency, and support system integration.

· Governance & Compliance: Building a centralized, high-standard technical wiki and knowledge base to codify IT policies, security protocols, and system documentation.

· Project Leadership: Managing the technical lifecycle of new enterprise initiatives and training staff on advanced technologies to ensure seamless group-wide adoption.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

· Demonstrated experience in managing complex network infrastructures and system security (e.g., intrusion detection systems).

· A strong problem-solving aptitude with the ability to manage large-scale technical projects independently.

· Advanced technical proficiency with scripting languages and various operating platforms.

· Excellent communication skills, with a focus on collaborative team environments and professional stakeholder management.
