JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of Executive Management, provide strategic leadership and oversight of the Group's IT function, including IT strategy, infrastructure, business applications, cybersecurity, projects, vendors and technical support services. Lead the IT Department, manage the IT budget, ensure appropriate IT governance and controls, and align technology solutions with business objectives while identifying opportunities to improve productivity and efficiency through technology and automation.
CORE FUNCTIONS:
Includes but is not limited to the following:
Developing, implementing and regularly reviewing the Group IT Strategy in alignment with the Group's business objectives and operational requirements.
Providing strategic advice to Executive Management on technology investments, systems, cybersecurity, digital transformation and emerging technologies.
Providing overall leadership, direction and oversight of the Group IT Department and ensuring effective coordination among the Network Administration, Business Applications and IT Support functions.
Developing and maintaining IT policies, standards, procedures and governance frameworks to support the secure and effective use of technology across the Group.
Preparing, managing and monitoring the Group IT budget and ensuring that expenditure is aligned with approved priorities and business requirements.
Leading and overseeing technology projects, system implementations, upgrades, integrations and digital transformation initiatives.
Evaluating existing systems and processes and identifying opportunities for automation, process improvement and increased operational efficiency.
Providing oversight of the Group's cybersecurity, information security, IT risk management and compliance activities, in conjunction with the relevant IT personnel and external service providers.
Ensuring appropriate controls and processes are maintained for system access, data protection, backups, disaster recovery and business continuity.
Overseeing the Group's IT infrastructure, business applications and end-user technology services to ensure appropriate levels of availability, performance, security and support.
Managing relationships with IT vendors, software providers, consultants and other service providers, including software licensing, maintenance agreements and service contracts.
Reviewing and approving technology purchases in accordance with approved budgets, Company policies and delegated authority.
Coordinating the development, maintenance and testing of IT disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Monitoring the performance of IT services and ensuring that significant incidents, risks and service issues are appropriately addressed and escalated.
Supervising, developing and evaluating IT personnel, including establishing performance objectives, identifying training and development requirements and promoting continuous professional development.
Establishing appropriate service standards and performance measures for the IT Department and monitoring performance against agreed objectives.
Promoting effective communication and collaboration between the IT Department and other departments and Group companies to ensure that technology solutions effectively support business requirements.
Researching and evaluating AI, automation, business intelligence and other emerging technologies and recommending appropriate solutions to enhance productivity, efficiency and competitiveness.
Ensuring appropriate IT documentation, policies, procedures, controls and asset management records are maintained across the Group.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or a related field.
Minimum 10 years’ relevant IT experience, including at least 5 years in an IT management role.
Demonstrated experience and proficiency in the following:
- IT management, technology planning, project management and service delivery.
- Managing IT budgets, vendors, software licensing and technology service contracts.
- Developing and implementing IT policies, procedures and governance frameworks.
- Overseeing IT infrastructure, enterprise applications and end-user technology services.
Sound knowledge of cybersecurity, IT risk management, data protection, disaster recovery and business continuity principles.
Experience with Microsoft 365, cloud technologies and enterprise business applications would be an asset.
Experience with digital transformation, automation, business intelligence or AI technologies would be an asset.
Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder-management skills.
Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement and make recommendations to Executive Management.
A proactive approach to technology, process improvement and business problem-solving.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
A valid driver’s permit and possession of own vehicle.
A valid passport, Visa and the ability to travel overseas.
Training or certification in customer service or service management would be an asset.
Experience working in a manufacturing or multi-site business environment would be an asset.
Police Certificate of Character (not more than 6 months old)
