IT Support, Restaurants and Shops

About the role

Dynamic 1 Group needs IT support for its restaurants and shops. This role looks after restaurant MICROS and the point of sale in the shops.

You keep the tills, printers and card machines working while the outlet is open, and you keep menus, prices and items set up correctly between services. You should already have done MICROS work in a restaurant. A course certificate on its own is not enough.

Responsibilities

•  Support Oracle MICROS during service: workstations, kitchen and bar printers, cash drawers, receipt printers and card readers.

•  Maintain menus, modifiers, prices, discounts and kitchen routing in MICROS. Simphony is preferred. RES 3700 is accepted.

•  Support shop POS: barcodes, items, prices, scanners, tills and end of day.

•  Set up and test equipment for a new outlet or a refit, and train cashiers and supervisors.

•  Check the network path to the till. Pass site-link and firewall faults on with the tests you already did.

•  Write the ticket before you leave: what failed, what you changed, and what is still open.

•  Work restaurant and shop hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays, and travel between Trinidad outlets.

Reqirements

•  An Associate Degree, Diploma or Equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science or Related Field.

•  At least 3-5 years of paid Oracle MICROS support in restaurants. Say which product you used, how many outlets, and whether you programmed menus.

•  Paid retail POS support: items, barcodes, printers, card payment and end of day. Name the product.

•  Hands-on POS hardware, and enough networking to tell a dead printer from a dead site link.

•  Clear written English for tickets and change notes.

•  Willing to work trading hours and travel. Eligible to work in Trinidad and Tobago.

•  Valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle.

Useful, not required

•  A second restaurant POS, a kitchen display, or work with a card payment provider.

•  Menu rollout across more than one site.

•  A technical certificate. Work on a live floor counts for more.
