JOB OVERVIEW:
The Technical Claims Advisory Officer is responsible for providing best in class support and or conduct on complex, large or catastrophic claims in all the P & C territories that we operate, to handle high value bodily injury claims involving attorneys as well as to analyze claim trends and formulate measures to stop claims leakage in the P & C Group.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 
1.    To ensure the day-to-day operation of the legal division to include but not limited to the following:
       Negotiating and settling bodily injury claims.
       Instructing external counsel as appropriate.
       Attendance in Court accompanied by external counsel.
       Preparing various reports

2.    Manage high value claims involving attorneys

3.    Provide legal advice on policy, underwriting and other matters to various departments within the P&C Group

4.    Provide oversight, support and or conduct on complex, large or catastrophic claims in all the P&C  territories that we operate.

5.    Requisition payments to Third Party Attorneys, External Counsel, intermediaries etc


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: 
      LLB Degree or Bachelor of Laws from a recognized University
      Legal Education Certificate (LEC)
      5 O’Levels
      2 A’Levels
      Any combination and/or relevant education
      Two (2) years’ experience as an Attorney-at-Law

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT:
As a regulated entity with obligations under the Know Your Employee guidelines, a Certificate of Character is required.

PERSON SPECIFICATION: 
The Legal Claims Advisory Officer must be flexible, highly adaptive to changes in the organisation and possess excellent interpersonal skills, with a strong customer service focus. He/ She must be a very meticulous, organised and detail oriented individual. The individual must possess strong problem-solving skills and be able to make sound decisions Demonstrate superior organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
