Job Summary

The Plant Process Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining water treatment plant systems to ensure the safe and efficient production of treated water in compliance with regulatory and company standards. The role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and adherence to environmental and safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor water treatment plant equipment, including pumps, filters, chemical dosing systems, clarifiers, and control panels

  • Ensure water quality parameters meet regulatory and operational standards

  • Perform routine inspections, testing, and sampling of treated and raw water

  • Adjust plant processes and chemical dosing levels based on test results and operational requirements

  • Conduct preventive maintenance and minor repairs on plant equipment

  • Identify, troubleshoot, and report mechanical or process-related issues

  • Maintain accurate operational logs, reports, and compliance documentation

  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, safety standards, and company procedures

  • Participate in emergency response and plant shutdown/start-up procedures as required


Requirements

 

  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience operating and maintaining Water Treatment Plants

  • Technical certification or diploma in Water Treatment, Process Technology, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field

  • Strong understanding of water treatment processes, chemical handling, and plant operations

  • Ability to interpret gauges, meters, and SCADA/control system
