Position Objective

The Production Helper is responsible for supporting manufacturing operations by assisting with the handling of raw materials, movement of finished products, and general production activities. The incumbent plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation of the production line by providing manual assistance where required and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.


Duties and Responsibilities

Production Support

  • Assist in the handling, movement, and preparation of raw materials for production.
  • Support production personnel with day-to-day manufacturing activities.
  • Assist in feeding materials into the production line as directed.
  • Maintain a basic understanding of production processes and workflow requirements.
  • Assist with setup and cleanup activities within the production area.

Finished Goods Handling

  • Stack, organize, and store finished products in designated areas.
  • Assist with loading and unloading materials and finished goods.
  • Ensure finished products are handled carefully to prevent damage.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness within storage and production areas.

Safety and Housekeeping

  • Follow all Company safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Report unsafe conditions, equipment defects, or hazards immediately.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Participate in safety meetings and training programs as required.

 

 

 

General Responsibilities

  • Assist with inventory counts when required.
  • Work collaboratively with production team members to meet daily production targets.
  • Perform manual lifting, carrying, and movement of materials as required.
  • Carry out any other related duties assigned by the Production Supervisor or Management.

Qualification Requirements

Education

  • Minimum secondary school education.
  • Passes in Mathematics and English would be considered an asset.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, construction, or industrial environment would be an asset.
  • Experience involving manual labour and material handling is preferred.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Basic understanding of manufacturing and production processes.
  • Ability to perform manual labour and repetitive tasks.
  • Physically fit and capable of standing, walking, lifting, and carrying materials for extended periods.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a team.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Safety-conscious approach to work.
