JOB PURPOSE
The Project Manager – Finance leads the planning, execution, and delivery of finance-related projects across the Massy Group’s Finance function. This role is responsible for driving successful implementation of financial systems, process improvements, integrations, and operational enhancements while ensuring strong governance, disciplined project controls, and collaboration among Finance and IT, across portfolios and lines of business, and with the support of external partners.
The ideal incumbent brings a solid finance/accounting background with hands-on experience managing complex financial system deployments and transformation initiatives.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Project Leadership, Scoping & Delivery
• Lead the end-to-end management of finance and accounting projects, ensuring clear scope definition, structured work plans and timely execution.
• Translate GCFO priorities into actionable project deliverables, milestones and measurable outcomes.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams across portfolios and lines of business to support seamless execution.
• Ensure all project outputs meet quality, compliance, and financial control standards.
2. Financial Systems, Integrations & Implementations
• Oversee the rollout and integration of financial systems and process improvement initiatives across the Group Finance function.
• Partner with technical teams to support configuration, testing cycles, data validation, user acceptance testing (UAT) and changeover to live environments.
• Assist with mapping of financial processes and chart-of-accounts (COA) alignment during transitions or system upgrades.
• Identify and lead opportunities to automate and streamline accounting workflows and financial operations.
3. Planning, Controls & Governance
• Develop and maintain project schedules, resource plans, RAID logs and status dashboards.
• Track performance indicators to assess project progress, highlight deviations and drive timely resolution.
• Monitor project financials including budgets, forecasts, procurement requirements and vendor deliverables.
• Ensure documentation is complete, accurate and updated throughout the project lifecycle.
4. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
• Serve as the central coordination point between Finance leadership, technical teams, business stakeholders and external vendors/consultants.
• Prepare structured project updates, briefing notes, presentations and progress summaries for the GCFO, Finance leadership team and steering committees.
• Facilitate project meetings, workshops and decision-making forums, ensuring clear tracking of actions and next-steps.
• Promote transparency and alignment through consistent communication.
5. Risk, Issue & Change Management
• Conduct ongoing assessment of project risks, dependencies, constraints and change impacts.
• Lead the development and implementation of mitigation measures, contingency plans and escalation protocols.
• Maintain risk and issue registers with current status, owners and timelines.
• Support change-management and user adoption activities to embed new systems and processes.
6. Quality Assurance & Post-Implementation Support
• Validate that work products, system configurations and operational outcomes align with business requirements and Finance standards.
• Support rollout, training, change management and user-adoption initiatives.
• Conduct post-implementation reviews to capture lessons learned and embed continuous improvement.

• Deep understanding of accounting processes, financial controls, reporting cycles, and ERP/system environments, enabling strong credibility with Finance stakeholders.
• Proficiency in project management frameworks and tools, with the ability to apply best practices to planning, governance, risk management, and execution.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels, prepare clear reports, and facilitate effective decision-making.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial processes, and financial reporting cycles.
• Knowledge of internal controls, financial governance, audit requirements, and risk management practices.
• Experience with ERP systems and financial system implementations, integrations, testing, and user adoption.
• Ability to map finance processes, manage master data/COA structures, and support automation or workflow improvements.
• Proficiency with reporting and analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau) and strong data analysis skills.
• Skilled in project planning, scheduling, RAID logs, budgeting, status reporting, and other project governance tools.
• Experience developing business requirements, process maps, and project documentation (charters, test scripts, SOPs).
• Proficiency with the Microsoft 365 Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint).
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field; professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, CA) is an asset.
• Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or equivalent) or training would be an asset.
• Lean Six Sigma methodologies certification or training would be an asset.
EXPERIENCE
• 7–10 years of project management experience, preferably within Finance or Audit environments.
• Proven experience managing finance system implementations, upgrades, integrations, or process transformation projects.
