Job Summary
Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Company’s retail outlet, including inventory control, stock requisition and replenishment, sales and cash management, employee supervision, customer service, and the maintenance of appropriate operational, safety and merchandising standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operations of the retail outlet, ensuring that staffing, stock availability, customer service and store presentation meet Company standards.

• Plan stock requirements, approve or prepare requisitions, and coordinate the timely replenishment of finished products and approved raw materials.

• Supervise the receipt, verification, storage and display of stock, ensuring that inventory records are accurate and discrepancies are addressed.

• Monitor stock levels, product rotation, expiry dates, damaged goods and losses; investigate variances and implement corrective action.

• Set and maintain standards for product displays, pricing accuracy, cleanliness and the overall presentation of the outlet.

• Supervise outlet employees, assign responsibilities, coordinate work schedules and monitor performance.

• Maintain oversight of sales transactions, cash handling and daily reconciliations, ensuring that records are complete and discrepancies are promptly investigated.

• Ensure customer enquiries and complaints are handled promptly and professionally, taking responsibility for matters requiring supervisory intervention.

• Engage directly with customers to understand their needs, provide product information and build a positive shopping experience.

• Monitor customer feedback, purchasing patterns and requests for products; share relevant trends with management and recommend changes to stock selection, availability or service.

• Enforce Company procedures and maintain appropriate safety, security and stock controls across the outlet.

• Review sales, inventory, cash and operational results; submit required reports and recommend improvements to outlet performance.

 

Education and Experience

• An associate degree in Business Management, Retail Management, Operations Management or a related field.

• At least five years’ experience in retail or store operations, including a minimum of two years in a supervisory role.

• Demonstrated experience in inventory control, stock replenishment, receiving and stock reconciliation.

• Experience overseeing sales transactions, cash handling, daily reconciliations and point-of-sale systems.

• Experience supervising staff, assigning duties and maintaining service and operational standards.

• Experience in a food retail or FMCG environment would be an asset.


Skills and Competencies

• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to organise, guide and hold staff accountable.

• Sound knowledge of retail operations, inventory controls and cash management.

• Strong customer service and complaint-resolution skills.

• Ability to monitor stock movement, identify discrepancies and take timely corrective action.

• Good numerical skills and attention to detail, particularly when reviewing sales, cash and inventory records.

• Ability to plan stock requirements and coordinate replenishment to maintain product availability.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear operational reports.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and the ability to use point-of-sale and inventory systems.

• Good judgement, integrity and the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy retail environment.
