Position Objective

The Retail Store Manager is responsible for the overall management and supervision of retail staff at the Sea Lots or Chaguanas retail outlet. The role ensures efficient store operations, effective merchandising and displays, adherence to company policies, and the delivery of high-quality customer service. The Retail Store Manager plays a key leadership role in supporting staff performance, mentoring employees, and driving sales while maintaining a professional and well-organized retail environment.


Key Duties & Responsibilities

Staff Supervision & Management

·        Ensure that all staff members perform the duties outlined in their respective job descriptions.

·        Where performance issues are identified, consult with the Floor Supervisor and the Human Resources Manager, or the Sales Desk Supervisor and the Human Resources Manager, as applicable.

·        Monitor and enforce compliance with the Company’s Dress Code Policy and consult with the relevant Supervisor and the Human Resources Manager in cases of non-compliance.

·        Consult with the Human Resources Manager regarding potential breaches of the Company’s Attendance and Punctuality Policy.

·        Promote a culture of teamwork and cooperation to ensure smooth daily operations.

 Training, Mentorship & Performance Management

·        Provide on-the-job mentorship and training to employees within the Floor Department and the Sales Desk Department.

·        Participate in disciplinary proceedings involving Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) and Billing Clerks/Cashiers when required.

·        Assist the Floor Supervisors, Sales Desk Supervisors, and the Human Resources Manager with performance evaluations of CSRs and other assigned employees.

Store Operations & Merchandising

·        Ensure all items are properly barcoded, accurately priced, and that price changes are implemented immediately.

·        Oversee store displays and ensure all products are neatly, professionally, and attractively displayed.

·        Suggest and implement improvements to product displays to enhance customer experience and increase sales.

·        Ensure shelves are optimally utilized, fully stocked, and free of unnecessary gaps.

·        Ensure stock is kept clean, orderly, and replenished in a timely manner to maximize sales opportunities.

Customer Service & Sales Support

·        Maintain a strong knowledge of hardware products and effectively communicate this knowledge to customers and staff.

·        Provide friendly, professional, and helpful service to all customers.

·        Assist customers and staff as needed during business hours.

Market Awareness & Business Development

·        Identify current and emerging market trends that may appeal to customers and advise management accordingly.

General Responsibilities

·        Carry out any other related duties as may be assigned by any Director of the Company.
