Our client is a leading provider of shore base services in Guyana, dedicated to delivering reliable and efficient support to our clients in the energy sector. We are currently seeking a highly experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance and accounting team. The Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records while supporting the company's financial goals. 


Key Responsibilities: 

1. Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy, compliance with accounting standards, and timely reporting to management. 

2. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts, monitoring actual performance against budgeted figures, and providing variance analysis. 

3. General Ledger Management: Oversee general ledger accounts, including reconciliation, journal entries, and maintenance of chart of accounts. 

4. Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with local tax laws and regulations, including the preparation of tax returns, supporting schedules, and liaising with tax authorities as needed. 

5. Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis, identify trends, and provide insights to aid in decision-making and financial planning. 

6. Accounts Payable and Receivable: Supervise the accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment approvals, and collections. 

7. Financial Audits: Coordinate and facilitate financial audits, working closely with auditors to provide necessary documentation and resolve audit findings. 

8. Cost Control: Implement cost control measures and work with operational teams to optimize expenses while maintaining service quality. 

9. Compliance and Documentation: Ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures, maintain financial records, and contribute to the development of internal controls. 

10. Team Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, fostering their professional development. 

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or ACCA certification is highly desirable. 

Minimum of [7] years of progressive accounting experience, including at least [3] years in a supervisory or senior role. 

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. 

Strong understanding of Guyana's tax laws and regulations. 

Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. 

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy. 

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
