Job Summary

The Shift Lead is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the Dairy Queen restaurant during assigned shifts. This role helps ensure excellent customer service, supervises team members on duty, maintains store standards, and assists with inventory, cash handling, and operational tasks. The Shift Lead serves as a point of contact for staff and customers and helps ensure the smooth running of the restaurant in the absence of the Store Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support team members during assigned shifts.
  • Ensure excellent customer service is provided at all times.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures.
  • Monitor cash handling procedures and ensure accuracy of transactions.
  • Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages.
  • Assist with ordering supplies and minimizing waste.
  • Ensure the restaurant remains clean, organized, and compliant with food safety and company standards.
  • Address customer concerns and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Help train new employees and provide ongoing guidance to team members.
  • Monitor staff performance and communicate concerns or recommendations to management.
  • Ensure all company policies and procedures are followed during each shift.
  • Assist with the execution of promotions and special campaigns.
  • Complete shift reports and communicate operational updates to management.
  • Promote teamwork and maintain a positive work environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three (3) CSEC/O'Level passes, including English Language and Mathematics, preferred.
  • Previous experience in a restaurant, fast-food, retail, or customer service environment.
  • Prior supervisory or team lead experience is an asset.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
  • Good problem-solving and customer service skills.
  • Reliable, responsible, and able to lead by example.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems are an asset.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
