Responsibilities:
· Open and close the store as scheduled in accordance with the company’s opening and closing policies and procedures.
· Ensures that the store maintains outstanding customer care standards.
· Monitors store quality, cleanliness, stock levels, merchandising, sales growth, profitability and taking the appropriate action to improve performance where required.
· Prepares work schedules for all store personnel so as to ensure effective store operations.
· Manages shrinkage, expenses and payroll keeping each within specified budgets.
· Ensures compliance with all policies and procedures and supports store loss prevention efforts through meetings, the monitoring of relevant reports and systems.
· Implements a regular and effective housekeeping program throughout the store.
· Ensure all cash transactions are properly carried out, balanced and recorded in conformance with established company procedures.
· Ensure all relevant accounting documents are properly processed, completed and submitted to the relevant authority within the prescribed timelines in conformance with established company policy and procedures.
· Ensure that health and safety standards in the store are maintained in accordance with company policy, public health regulations, and OSHA standards.
· Ensure all relevant equipment and facilities are maintained in optimum working conditions.
· To be accessible by telephone or any other immediate means of communication and respond to emergency call outs as necessary.
· To verify and sign off on all required paperwork for head office on a timely basis.
· Any other related duties.
Position Requirements:
· A diploma in business administration, or marketing, or management.
· Certification in Customer Service.
Five (5) years’ work experience in the Retail Food industry, with at least three (3) of these being in a similar managerial capacity.
Knowledge in retail supermarkets/specialty food stores would be considered an asset.
· Must have proven leadership skills and be a team player.
· Strong communication skills.
· Ability to operate on a shift basis and able to work weekends.
· Two (2) valid recommendations.
