Job Summary
The Warehouse Attendant is responsible for supporting the efficient day-to-day operations of the warehouse. The position involves receiving, checking, storing, picking, packing, and issuing goods while maintaining accurate inventory records. The Warehouse Attendant is also responsible for keeping the warehouse clean, organized, and safe and ensuring that all warehouse activities are carried out in accordance with company policies and Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming goods against invoices, purchase orders, or delivery notes.
• Unload and safely store goods in their designated warehouse locations.
• Organize, label, tag, and arrange stock for easy identification and retrieval.
• Pick and pack orders accurately according to customer or internal requisitions.
• Prepare goods for dispatch and assist with loading delivery vehicles.
• Issue stock only against properly authorized requisitions or documentation.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and update stock movements in the company's inventory system.
• Assist with regular stock counts, cycle counts, and physical inventory checks.
• Identify and report damaged, missing, expired, or incorrectly received goods.
• Ensure proper stock rotation and maintain appropriate storage standards.
• Assist with receiving and dispatch documentation and filing.
• Operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, forklifts, or other warehouse equipment safely, where authorized and certified.
• Keep the warehouse clean, neat, and free from hazards.
• Follow company safety procedures, OSH requirements, and proper manual-handling practices.
• Report damaged equipment, safety hazards, and maintenance issues to the Warehouse Supervisor.
• Assist drivers, customers, suppliers, and other departments as required.
• Perform other duties related to warehouse operations as assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor or Manager.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Experience

• Minimum of 3–5 CXC/CSEC passes or equivalent, preferably including English Language and Mathematics.
• Previous experience in a warehouse, distribution, logistics, inventory, or similar environment is an asset.
• 1–2 years' relevant warehouse experience is preferred, although entry-level candidates may be considered depending on the employer.
• Basic knowledge of inventory control and warehouse procedures.
• Basic computer literacy and ability to use inventory or stock-management systems.
• Ability to read, write, count, and complete basic warehouse documentation.
• Forklift certification/licence would be an advantage and may be required for positions involving forklift operation.
• A valid Certificate of Good Character may be required by some employers.

Physical Requirements: The position may involve frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, loading, and unloading of materials. Some Trinidad and Tobago warehouse postings specifically require the ability to handle heavier materials and comply with prescribed personal protective equipment and safety procedures
