Description
The Purchasing Officer range of duties are sourcing items for fleet maintenance, negotiating, receiving and restocking items, issuing items, stock count and procurement of various services for the Company. The Purchasing Officer must comply with all Company's Policies and Procedures governing the position.
Key Accountabilities:
- Developing sound, cost-effective strategies for the purchasing of materials used in the business.
- Liaises with Management to understand items to be procured and timeline within which required.
- Source requested items ensuring competitive prices based on the market, obtains approval to purchase prior to preparing the Purchase Order.
- Ensure proper approval is received for all purchases in compliance with Company policies and procedures.
- Certificate or Diploma in Business Management and/or Purchasing and/or Supply Chain Management
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with international purchases
- Well-developed interpersonal skills
- Strong negotiating skills
- Ability to function as an effective team member.
- Ability to work unsupervised and effectively under conditions with frequent and multiple interruptions.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work assignments.
