To ensure accurate financial records, timely reporting, and compliance with IFRS through effective general ledger management, internal controls, and month‑end close processes, while supporting management decision‑making and audit requirements.
Accountant – Responsibilities
- Ensure proper internal controls are developed, implemented, and monitored
- Review and ensure general ledger entries are accurate and properly supported
- Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
- Ensure accurate and timely month‑end close activities
- Maintain, review, and adjust balance sheet account reconciliations as required
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
- Liaise with Finance Analysts to provide insights on monthly financial performance
- Liaise with external auditors and prepare annual financial statements
- Prepare financial reports in accordance with company policies, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Review and update departmental policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
Education and Qualifications
- Professional Accounting designation (ACCA) or equivalent
- Thorough knowledge of Accounting principles and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Strong experience with accounting software (ERP systems an asset)
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA is an asset
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
