Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Accountant responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and preparing timely financial reports in compliance with accounting standards and banking regulations. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with various departments within the bank to ensure financial statements are prepared accurately and on schedule. As a critical member of the Client Finance team, the Accountant will play an essential role in safeguarding the integrity, accuracy, and regulatory compliance of the company's financial records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow) in line with IFRS
  • Ensure timely calculation, filing, and payment of VAT, Corporation Tax, Green Fund Levy, and Business Levy
  • Deliver monthly and quarterly reporting, including trial balances, flash reports, variance analysis, and supporting workings
  • Reconcile bank accounts and promptly identify and resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate fixed asset and inventory records
  • Liaise with external auditors to ensure timely completion of audits
  • Support external audits and respond to audit queries
  • Manage and supervise direct reports, including:
    • Reviewing journals and reconciliations
    • Coaching and mentoring team members
    • Supporting professional and personal development
  • Provide financial analysis and reporting to senior management, including the Head of Finance
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Finance

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Professional qualification (ACCA - Level 3)
  • 8–10 years’ progressive accounting experience, preferably within a group or multi‑entity environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratibe with different departments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and accounting software
  • Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills
