Overview
We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Finance Lead / Accountant to oversee the day-to-day operations of the finance function. The successful candidate will manage a small team, ensure accurate financial reporting, and contribute to process improvements and business decision-making.

 

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

• Manage and oversee the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness 

• Prepare and present monthly financial reports and assist with annual reporting requirements 

• Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks 

• Support the external finance consultant with required financial data and analysis 

• Monitor financial performance and provide insights and recommendations to management 

• Compile and track key business metrics for decision-making 

 

Budgeting, Cash Flow & Planning

• Assist in the annual budgeting and planning process 

• Monitor budget performance and highlight variances to management 

• Manage cash flow, forecasting, and working capital needs 

• Ensure billing, collections, and cash flow processes support operational requirements 

 

Team & Department Management

• Lead and manage a finance team of approximately four staff 

• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and treasury functions 

• Allocate tasks, monitor performance, and ensure deadlines are met 

• Provide coaching and support to improve team capability and efficiency 

 

Operational Oversight

• Take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the finance department 

• Act as the primary internal contact for finance matters 

• Work closely with leadership to provide timely financial updates 

• Support administrative functions and ensure efficient financial operations 

 

Process Improvement & Controls

• Identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies within finance operations 

• Maintain and improve financial policies, procedures, and controls 

• Ensure contract billing and collection schedules are adhered to 

• Support audit processes and liaise with external auditors as needed 

• Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies by maintaining accurate records, preparing required reports, and supporting audits

 

Business Partnering & Strategy

• Provide proactive financial insights and solutions to support decision-making 

• Analyze costs and support cost reduction initiatives 

• Review operational bottlenecks and recommend improvements 

• Assist with pricing considerations and overall business performance analysis 

• Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners (e.g., bankers, consultants) 

 

Requirements 

• Level 2 ACCA  

• Minimum 4 years’ experience in accounting or finance, including some supervisory responsibility 

• Familiarity with Oddo would be an asset

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting 

• Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software 

• Ability to manage a small team and operate independently 

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills 

• Effective communication skills with the ability to explain financial concepts clearly 

• Proactive, solutions-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
