A leading manufacturing/food processing company in East Trinidad is seeking an experienced and qualified individual to fill the position of Accountant. The incumbent will create and maintain financial statements and performance reports while ensuring compliance with procedures and controls for financial transactions. Additionally, the successful candidate would facilitate processing and maintaining the integrity of accounting information.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Prepare financial reports on a timely basis and present results to the finance team.

2. Verify, allocate, post and reconcile transactions.

3. Analyse financial information and report on business and financial performance.

4. Assist with cost management (preparation of costings).

5. Attend Monthly stock counts and investigate variances.

6. Calculation and compliance with tax and other statutory requirements.

REQUIREMENTS

1. Degree in Accounting or completion of up to Level 2 ACCA or other Professional Certifications.

2. Minimum 2 years accounts payable or general accounting experience in mid-size to large organisation.

3. Experience with creating and reporting of financial performance.

4. Experience with accounting IT systems.

5. Proficient with Microsoft Office skills, in particular Excel.

6. Experience with administration of department and supervision of staff.
