Job Summary
The Issa Nicholas Group of companies is seeking to recruit an experienced and dynamic individual for the position of Assistant Accountant. This position supports the group finance team by performing a range of daily accounting transactions, bank reconciliations, and supporting month-end closing, including posting journals and preparing statutory returns. The role ensures financial records are accurate, managing accounts receivable, payroll processing, and assisting with audits. It also involves liaising with group companies, vendors, and customers to resolve queries and ensure smooth financial operations.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Transaction Processing: Recording financial transactions, updating general ledgers, payroll processing and managing daily AP/AR tasks.

• Reconciliations: Performing monthly bank, general ledger, and inter-companyreconciliations.

• Financial Reporting Support: Assisting in the preparation of month-end management accounts, accruals, and prepayments.

• Compliance: Preparing VAT returns, assisting with tax compliance, and gathering information for year-end audits.

• Cash Management: Preparing weekly bank and AR reports and preparing weekly deposits.

• Other: Providing support to the Group Accountant as required

Qualifications & Experience:

• A Degree in Accounting/Finance or partial professional qualification (e.g., AAT, ACCA, CPA)

• A minimum of five years’ progressive accounting experience 

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Word and Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and knowledge of accounting software like QuickBooks or Sage

• Sound Knowledge of accounting, internal controls and business processes
