JOB PURPOSE / SUMMARY
The Company Buyer plays a pivotal role in acquiring goods and services that support the organization's operations. This role involves conducting market research, sourcing and evaluating suppliers, negotiating favorable terms, managing procurement processes, and ensuring cost-effective, high-quality acquisition—all while fostering strong supplier relationships and collaborating across departments.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supplier Identification & Evaluation

    • Research potential suppliers and assess their capabilities based on cost, quality, reliability, and sustainability 

  • Negotiation & Contract Management

    • Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, favorable terms, and timely deliveries.

    • Review, manage, and renew supplier contracts, ensuring legal and policy compliance 

  • Purchase Order & Inventory Management

    • Process purchase orders accurately, track delivery statuses, and manage inventory levels to prevent shortages or excess 

  • Market Trends & Cost Optimization

    • Stay updated on industry trends and pricing shifts to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize procurement strategies 

  • Supplier Performance & Relationship Management

    • Monitor supplier performance metrics such as delivery reliability and quality standards.

    • Address supplier issues proactively to drive continuous improvement

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Work closely with production, finance, logistics, and other internal teams to align on supply needs and timelines 

  • Compliance & Documentation

    • Ensure adherence to procurement policies, legal guidelines, and sustainability practices.

    • Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier data 


 

Required Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Level 5 CIPS
  • BSc. in Procurement/Supply Chain, Business Administration or relevant field
  • At least 3 years experience as a retail buyer or relevant role
  • Knowledge of supply chain principles and techniques
  • Familiarity with supplier relationship management, market research, data analysis and forecasting techniques
