National Quarries Company Limited (NQCL) is seeking an outstanding, forward-thinking Chief Executive Officer to provide the strategic leadership necessary to lead its future growth.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will be responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational management of National Quarries Company Limited (NQCL). The CEO will drive growth, optimize operations and ensure that the Company meets its financial and operational goals. He/she will also build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and lead the Executive Management Team.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Strategic Leadership:
o Develop and execute the company’s strategic plan.
o Lead the ongoing operations of the organization by collaborating with the leadership team to Execute and Evaluate Programs, Oversee the Budgeting Process, Human Resources, Legal, Contracts, Compliance, Risk Management, Mining Operations and Financial Management.
o Oversee subvention funds received from the government to ensure that they are appropriately assigned.
o Collaborate with NQCL’s executive management team to ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
o Represent NQCL and be its primary spokesperson through public speaking, media appearances, written newsletters, statements and host events.
o Ensure the management information is prepared in a manner which will assist the Board in its deliberations.
o Provide adhoc reports and feedback to the Board on issues affecting the organisation.
· Operations Management:
o Implement best practices in procurement as the Accounting Officer for the Company.
o Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards.
o Ensures that the required business systems and processes, organizational structure and manning and functional leadership and direction are in place and are consistent with the wider strategic objectives of the National Quarries Company Limited.
o Provides general direction to the various sub- functions engaged in the general business of the National Quarries Company Limited.
o Prepares and presents regular reports as required to enable on-going review of the operations and results of NQCL against plans and budgets.
o Ensure the design of control techniques and systems which will readily highlight deviations from plans and ensure that corrective action is taken.
· Financial Management:
o Work closely with Chief Financial Officer to develop and manage the organization’s budget.
o Monitor financial performance, analyze variances and implement corrective actions as needed.
o Drive cost efficiency while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
· Team Leadership and Development:
o Lead, coach, discipline and develop the executive Leadership team.
o Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages Safety, Innovation and Accountability.
o Review organizational design periodically for efficiency.
o Sets standards and conduct semi-annual reviews of the performance of the executive management team so that the goals of the company are achieved.
· Customer Relationship Management:
o Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, suppliers, and stakeholders.
o Act as liaison between the NQCL and its Line Ministry
· Technology and Innovation:
o Leverage NQCL’s IT resources to implement technological solutions that enhance operational efficiency.
o Stay informed about technological advancements that could benefit the company’s operations and customer base.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
· Master’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Natural Sciences or Engineering
· Knowledge of Quarry Management, Geology and or Mining activities
· Sound knowledge of Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Property Act and the guidelines from the Office of Procurement Regulations.
