We are currently seeking suitable candidates for the position of Dispatcher.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan work for Port Operations based on the number of planned moves and truck availability.

Conduct routine visits to clients’ compounds to address drivers’ issues, including handling logistics concerns and container backlogs.

Dispatch trucks to various consignees throughout the day.

Liaise with consignee clerks and container agents to obtain the necessary documentation for the acceptance and transportation of containers.

Assist with container breakdowns by preparing reports and capturing photographic evidence.

Coordinate with the Container Operations Department to provide updates on container movements and workload scheduling.

Conduct site visits for new clients to assess safety conditions, including access routes and trailer safety.

Address drivers’ complaints and escalate to the relevant supervisor where necessary.

Ensure all supervised employees are equipped with the required PPE and that it is used correctly.

Participate in monthly HSSE audits.

Identify operational issues and collaborate with management to implement mitigation plans.

Promote a participative approach to addressing HSSE matters within the team.

Ensure all operational personnel are properly oriented for designated worksites.

Verify that personnel are certified and trained to operate assigned equipment.

Ensure all equipment assigned to sites is safe for operation.

Confirm that employees interacting with equipment are adequately trained.

Ensure proper reporting and control measures are implemented in the event of an accident.

Be available to work at either the Point Lisas or Port of Spain Ports as required.

Perform any other duties as assigned by Management.

Requirements:

Relevant experience and qualifications in dispatching, logistics, or port operations

Strong communication and coordination skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
