The Nicholas Group of Companies owns and operates as part of the Group of Companies, the Radisson Hotel, Trinidad. We are seeking to recruit a dynamic and highly motivated individual to join our team as the Financial Controller at Allied Hotels Limited.

The position reports to the Group Chief Financial Officer with indirect reporting lines to the Group Chief Executive Officer and the Managing Director’s office. The incumbent is responsible for:

• Day to day operations of the accounting department.

• Supervision and coordination of the daily functions of accounting staff including: Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Logistics and Income Audit.

• Preparation of monthly and annual management reports.

• Manage the General Ledger function through interfacing with the other functional units in the Finance Department.

• Management of the Payroll functions.

• Management of the annual audit within agreed timelines.

• Proactively review and make recommendations for cost control measures across all departments.

• Monitors all local tax compliance that applies, and ensures that taxes are charged correctly and collected.

• File with local tax authority, all statutory and other applicable taxes by stipulated due dates.

• Reviews all aspects of the varying departmental functions that flow into the financial management reporting.

Requirements

• Professional Accounting Qualification (ACCA, CMA, CGA, CIMA, CPA, CA, B.Sc.)

• Minimum of five (5) years relevant experience in a senior role

• Technically competent. Proficiency in MS Office, Accounting Software and Payroll Software.

• Effective communications skills

• Flexible, dynamic, self-motivated and quality driven individual

• Hospitality industry experience will be an asset
