General Accounting Assistant

General Accountability

The Accounting Assistant provides relief for different position holders in the Accounts Department and performs a range of accounting functions including accounts receivables, accounts payables, inventory reconciliation, data entry and various other accounting activities for the Company in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.

Qualifications required:

Person Specifications:

Minimum Acceptable Academic/ Technical/Professional Qualifications:

• Five (5) G.C.E. O’Level/C.X.C. subjects including Mathematics and Principles of Accounts
• Level 1 CAT or Level 1 ACCA will be an asset

Minimum number of years relevant experience

• At least one (1) year in an accounting environment

Specific Skills/ Experience and /or Knowledge

• Computer Literate
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite especially with Excel
• Working knowledge of Peachtree/Sage Accounting Software
• Knowledge in MicroPay will be an asset
• Analytical Skills
• The ability to work as a team member
