Job Purpose
The HR Manager is responsible for leading and managing the human resources function to support the organization's strategic goals. This role involves developing and implementing HR strategies, policies, and programs that enhance organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, and talent management. 

The HR Manager will serve as a business partner to the leadership, providing high level guidance to the General Managers in region on all HR-related matters for Trinidad, Suriname, Guyana, Jamaica.

 

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Recruitment & Onboarding

• Develop and implement strategic recruitment plans aligned with organizational goals.

• Ensure best practices in candidate sourcing, interviewing, and selection.

• Oversee the development of contracts and offer letters, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and legal requirements.

• Design and manage a comprehensive onboarding program to enhance new hire integration and retention.

Performance Management

• Develop and implement performance management strategies that align with organizational goals.

• Provide performance management guidance to senior leaders, including coaching and career development planning.

• Develop and implement disciplinary policies and procedures.

Employee Files and Recordkeeping

• Oversee the implementation and management of a Human Resource Information System (HRIS) for accurate and efficient recordkeeping.

• Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and organizational policies.

• Analyse HR data and metrics to identify trends and develop strategic initiatives.

 

Team Building & Engagement

• Develop and lead initiatives to enhance organizational culture and employee engagement.

• Design and implement team-building programs and employee engagement surveys.

• Develop and oversee internal communication strategies, including town halls and newsletters.

Learning & Development/Manager Support

• Develop and implement a strategic learning and development framework aligned with organizational goals.

• Lead initiatives to develop leadership capabilities across the organization.

• Collaborate with department heads to identify training needs and design targeted development programs.

 

Compensation & Payroll

• Develop and implement a comprehensive compensation strategy aligned with organizational goals and market trends.

• Lead the annual salary review process and provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership.

• Oversee the administration of employee benefits programs.

Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to interpret HR data and metrics and develop strategic initiatives Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build strong relationships with employees at all levels and foster a positive organizational culture.

Time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization’s hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and administrative practices.

 

Qualification & Experience required.

● Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field

● Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) is highly desirable.

● Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.

● Proven experience in HR planning, talent management, and employee engagement.

● Strong knowledge of HRIS systems and data analysis.

● Excellent understanding of local employment laws and regulations.

● Regional business experience will be an asset.
