Job Summary:
Allied Hotels Limited trading as Radisson Hotel, Trinidad is seeking to recruit a passionate Line Cook. This candidate will play an essential role in delivering delightful dining experiences to our guests. Your culinary skills and dedication will contribute to the seamless operation of our kitchen and the satisfaction of our guests. In this dynamic environment, you will be responsible for preparing a diverse range of dishes, ensuring consistent quality, flavor, and presentation.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare a variety of dishes following established recipes and presentation standards.

• Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service during peak hours and special events.

• Adhere to proper food handling and safety procedures to maintain hygiene and prevent cross-contamination.

• Monitor ingredient inventory levels and promptly communicate any shortages or quality concerns.

• Maintain a clean and organized workstation, optimizing efficiency.

• Communicate effectively with kitchen team members and waitstaff for accurate order preparation.

• Safely operate kitchen equipment such as grills, stoves, ovens, and fryers.

• Support the training of junior kitchen staff as required.

• Follow food quality and sanitation standards set by the hotel and regulatory agencies.

• Participate in regular kitchen meetings to discuss menu changes and operational enhancements.

• Adapt to new challenges and tasks that arise in a dynamic kitchen environment.

• Must be able to work shift, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.


Qualifications:

• 2 - 3 years of proven experience as a Line Cook in a high-volume kitchen, preferably in hospitality.

• A culinary degree or relevant certification would be an asset.

• Profound knowledge of food preparation techniques, sanitation protocols, and kitchen equipment operation.

• Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

• Effective communication skills for seamless coordination with team members.

• Physical stamina for extended periods of standing and handling kitchen equipment.

• Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing situations.

• Positive attitude and a passion for delivering exceptional culinary experiences.

Required skills:

• Strong culinary skills and expertise in cooking techniques, international and local cuisines.

• Excellent organizational, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities.

• Strong leadership and people-management skills, with the ability to train, motivate, and discipline kitchen staff.

• Excellent knowledge of food preparation, menu execution, and culinary presentation standards.

• Thorough understanding of food safety, sanitation, and HACCP standards.

• Ability to perform effectively under pressure while maintaining high quality and consistency.

• Strong knowledge of kitchen equipment care, food preparation techniques, and quality control.
