POSITION SUMMARY
The Operations Analyst improves business efficiency by analysing data, identifying process bottlenecks, and making data-driven recommendations for streamlining workflows, reducing costs, and boosting productivity, creating reports and dashboards to track performance and support strategic decisions across various departments within Operations.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
Consumption & Returns Controls
1. Review and validate daily actual material consumption, returns, and inventory transactions in both the ERP system and on the shop floor, ensuring accurate cost allocation by production line.
2. Monitor inventory transactions and ensure accurate inventory valuation and reporting within the plant.
3. Identify, analyze, and report deviations in consumption, waste, rework, and scrap.
Cost Analysis & Financial Alignment
4. Identify and analyze variances between actual and standard costs by product, line, and shift; conduct root-cause analysis and coordinate corrective action plans with Operations and Finance teams.
5. Validate product costing, including bill of materials (BOMs) and new product costing standards.
6. Support internal and external audits.
Operational Efficiency & Performance Monitoring
7. Continuously monitor actual versus standard costs.
8. Control and validate actual material consumption and returns in the ERP system and physically in the plant.
Strategic Reporting & Decision Support
9. Support the development of periodic management presentations and supporting schedules.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
10. Partnering with plant management, operations, and other departments to drive cost optimization, operational improvements, and alignment with financial goals.
11. Execute all relevant responsibilities as outlined in the Roles, Responsibilities and Authorities Matrix (MT-GM-004) to ensure compliance with the Integrated Management System (IMS).
12. Perform any other related duties that may be assigned.
EDUCATION & TRAINING
A Bachelors’ Degree in Business Management and/or Accounting.
Bilingual capabilities in English and Spanish will be an asset.
EXPERIENCE
A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in manufacturing or production environments.
Demonstrated ability to work among cross-functional teams.
