Position Overview

VE Medical is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Ophthalmologist to join our growing team in St. Lucia. This is an excellent opportunity for a clinician interested primarily in clinical ophthalmology, with the opportunity to assist and further develop surgical skills alongside an experienced ophthalmic surgery team.

The successful candidate will work in a modern, well-equipped facility and provide care to patients with a wide range of visual and ophthalmic conditions.


Clinical Services & Technology

VE Medical offers a comprehensive range of ophthalmic services supported by advanced diagnostic and surgical equipment, including:

  • Glaucoma treatments (including Preserflo procedures)

  • Diabetic Retinopathy management (Iridex laser and Vabysmo injections)

  • Corneal Cross Linking

  • Pterygium treatments and minor ophthalmic surgeries

  • Phaco Cataract Surgery

  • Full Vitreo-Retinal surgical procedures in a fully equipped retinal surgery suite

Beginning in 2026, VE Medical will also introduce an Oculoplastics team offering specialized treatments and surgical procedures.


Practice Environment

The ophthalmologist will join a collaborative and well-supported clinical environment, including:

  • A fully staffed nursing team

  • A comprehensive optometry department providing general eye care services

  • An on-site pharmacy

  • A blood diagnostic clinic within the facility


Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Ophthalmologist with clinical experience

  • English-speaking, with strong communication skills

  • Personable and patient-focused approach

  • Ability to manage patients with a wide range of visual conditions

  • Registration with the St. Lucia Medical Council will be required

  • Applicants whose native language is not English must demonstrate a satisfactory level of English proficiency
