A well-established organization in Guyana is seeking an accomplished and commercially astute executive to serve as its President and General Manager.

Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the successful candidate will hold overall responsibility for the strategic direction, operational performance, financial sustainability and continued development of the organization. Key Responsibilities

The President and General Manager will:

  • Partner with the Board of Directors to establish and execute the organization’s strategic direction, mission, vision, values and critical success factors.
  • Provide overall leadership and oversight of the organization’s day-to-day operations.
  • Translate strategic priorities into clear operational plans, performance expectations and measurable results.
  • Keep the Board fully informed of significant business conditions, opportunities, risks and emerging issues.
  • Lead the development of a strong, accountable and performance-driven management team.
  • Establish clear responsibilities and accountabilities across the organization.
  • Promote a culture that attracts, retains, develops and motivates highly qualified employees.
  • Champion safety as a core organizational priority.
  • Drive continuous improvement across operational standards, systems, processes and service delivery.
  • Ensure organizational stability through effective controls, procedures, performance monitoring and regular evaluation.
  • Oversee budgeting, financial reporting, audits and the prudent management of organizational resources.
  • Work with the Board to secure the financial resources required to support short-term and long-term objectives.
  • Ensure that programmes, products or services are delivered cost-effectively while maintaining appropriate standards of quality.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable laws, regulations, governance requirements and internal policies.
  • Support the Board, its committees and the Chairman in fulfilling their governance responsibilities.
  • Serve as a senior representative and spokesperson for the organization.
  • Build and maintain constructive relationships with clients, regulators, government representatives, business partners and other key stakeholders.
  • Strengthen the organization’s visibility, reputation and engagement within the wider community.
  • Lead technology adoption, organizational change and participation in the company’s quality-management and continuous-improvement systems.


Qualifications and Experience
Candidates should possess:

  1. A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
  2. A Master of Business Administration, relevant graduate qualification or comparable advanced professional studies.
  3. A strong record of success in a senior executive, general management or business leadership capacity.
  4. Demonstrated experience overseeing strategy, operations, financial performance and organizational development.
  5. Experience working with, reporting to or advising a Board of Directors.
  6. Sound knowledge of corporate governance, regulatory compliance, financial oversight and risk management.
  7. Experience leading organizational transformation, continuous improvement or technology adoption would be highly valuable.
