POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for daily production operations.  Supervises, motivates and supports the Team maintaining open communication. The incumbent supports the effective and efficient planning and scheduling of personnel and equipment to reduce bottlenecks and operational deficiencies. The incumbent is also accountable for meeting the Department’s production, quality and health & safety goals, as well as playing a key role in meeting the Company’s profitability and customer satisfaction goals.

 

RESPONSIBILITES

1. Ensure compliance with quality standards while maintaining quality specifications.

2. Balance manufacturing orders with raw materials consumption.

3. Plan work for assigned Operations teams in a safe manner.

4. Revise and update Operations Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) as required.

5. Create requisitions and work orders for operation’s jobs and follow-up with Maintenance and Purchasing on their status.

6. Create and maintain operations Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). 

7. Coordinate and follow-up on training and development for Operators.

8. Conduct daily toolbox meetings.

9. Ensure the housekeeping program is executed to maintain the required company standards. 

10. Provide information required for the daily Power Suite meeting.

11. Facilitate weekly planning meetings to set Planner priorities and scheduled work priorities.

12. Lead and facilitate A3 problem solving sessions for operational and maintenance downtime reduction.

13. Track all A3 corrective actions until completion and verify A3 controls are implemented and are effective.

14. Track and prioritize the small improvement project list and coordinate resources with Maintenance, Project Team and Purchasing.

15. Lead production tasks on maintenance shutdowns.

16. Revise and track downtime by work centre.

17. Participate in cost reduction programs.

18. Act as a leader within Converting Operations, exhibiting the highest standard of professionalism and ensuring compliance to all applicable procedures and protocols of the organization.

19. Adhere to (and actively promote among all Operations employees) and ensure compliance with the Company’s Health and Safety Policies. 

20. Report and update management on any unsafe conditions, accidents or near misses and follow all the relevant actions to completion.

21. Execute all relevant responsibilities as outlined in the Roles, Responsibilities and Authorities Matrix (MT-GM-004) to ensure compliance with the Integrated Management System (IMS).

22. Perform any other related duties that may be assigned.


EDUCATION & TRAINING

A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or any other related discipline from a recognized institution.

EXPERIENCE

A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment with at least two (2) years in a Supervisory capacity.

Experience with implementation of process optimization projects.

Knowledge of industrial plant operational processes.

Experience with a Business Planning & Control System (BPCS) will be an asset.
