Job Summary
The ensure that business processes and transactions follow all legal/regulatory and internal guidelines. Duties include evaluating all current and new compliance regulations, reviewing company processes, the management of the company’s Risk and Compliance Programs, and the identification and management of non-compliance and policy violations.
Key Functions
Compliance
· Develop, implement, and monitor all Company Policies and Regulations that relate to and that would meet all Regulatory Compliance Requirements that fall under the Insurance and Companies Acts and other related Financial Institution Acts including AML, KYC, FATCA, and international tax reporting requirements.
Risk Management
· Develop, implement and monitor the company’s Risk Management Policies, Processes, and Procedures to ensure that any potential risk exposures are proactively dealt with to mitigate any adverse impact on the company’s operations.
· Review the company’s Risk and Compliance Registers by assessing the efficiency of controls being applied and recommend required changes/updates and/or improvements.
· Coordinate with relevant managers and review various departmental Risks and Compliance Policies to ensure identified risks are being adequately addressed and relevant compliance requirements are being met.
· Perform periodic audits on the relevant policies and procedures.
· Report to the Audit Committee and Group Internal Auditor as required and communicate with respective regulators, auditors, and other relevant bodies on risk and compliance matters as necessary.
Job Tasks
· Oversight of the company’s Compliance and Risk Management programs.
· Oversight of all Anti-Money Laundering/Counter Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) activity, by ensuring there are consistent controls.
· Updating the AML/CFT procedures periodically.
· Ensuring there is ongoing AML/CFT training for all employees, managers, and the Board as necessary.
· The establishment and maintenance of a system to review and report suspicious transactions to the FIU.
· The provision of information upon the request of Law Enforcement Agencies, and FIU for investigative purposes.
· The submission of information to the CBTT and other related bodies as necessary
